Sala de acceso a los rooms — access to rooms

El lugar donde se organizaba era de buen gusto por su destartalado uso de los espacios. El edificio de celebración del WAF era el CCIB de los edificios Forum y algunas de las actividades se encontraban dentro de la inmensidad, auténticamente bellos por su derroche y generosidad.

The place was organized by his battered tasteful use of space. The building was the conclusion of WAF CCIB Forum buildings and some of the activities were within the vast, truly beautiful for its extravagance and generosity.

Mucho antes de iniciar mi tour por las presentaciones que se realizaban de manera simultanea en las Rooms tuve la oportunidad de mantener una serie de entrevistas.

Mi primer encuentro en cuanto aterrice fue con Pilar DM, colaborada de la revista CREACTIVISTAS y Historiadora del Arte. Afincada en Barcelona gestiona un blog sobre Arte Contemporáneo EL DADO DEL ARTE. Esta muy cotizada como critica, recibe increíble numero de visitas, comentarios y su actividad tanto en facebook como twiter hace potenciar su difusión a nivel global. Trabaja en una empresa de gestión cultural y exposiciones como Comisaria de Arte.

Long before I begin my tour of the presentations that were made simultaneously on the Rooms I had the opportunity to hold a series of interviews.

My first encounter was with land as Pilar DM CREACTIVISTAS contributor to the magazine and art historian. Based in Barcelona runs a blog on contemporary art EL DADO DEL ARTE. This highly prized as a critic, get incredible number of visits, comments and activity on Facebook and twitter does enhance their global dissemination. Works in a cultural and exhibition management as a Commissioner of Art.

Tal y como se ha encargado de analizar Pilar en su post del DADO DEL ARTE , el festival mantiene una estructura amena, directa y objetiva hacia contenidos y personas que quieren mantener un dialogo y divulgación de sus proyectos.

«Un congreso caracterizado por una correcta frialdad europea, un excelente cumplimiento horario y por personas que mostraron una prudente a la par que interesante cercanía. Un congreso de ‘hombres de negro’ con un único idioma: el inglés y sin posibles traducciones, donde primó la globalización arquitectónica a través de proyectos locales. Un congreso ‘global’ que se devino poco ‘típico’ y muy ‘abierto’ a la experimentación. El polo opuesto a los congresos ‘españolizados’ de conferencias eternas y con discursos, en muchas ocasiones, repetidos»

Los modelos anglosajones son prácticos y directos. Su metodología es original y su marketing llega a personas que están dispuestas a pagar por exponer sus proyectos o presentarse a un concurso.

En algunos casos la corriente critica tiene que aflorar cuando debes manejar el ingles y no es tu idioma madre en cualquier caso un contrasentido cuando el lugar de la celebración es en Cataluña.

A juzgar por el porcentaje de obras presentadas -en un alto grado de origen de culturas o estudios anglosajones- el modelo trasladado al sistema latino no funcionaria, un ejemplo en el nivel de asistencia local que fue realmente bajo. Entre otras cosas por que la improvisación de las organizaciones en nuestro modelo es muy fuerte, el carácter amable y dialogante, acostumbrados al debate practico y objetivo es la segunda faceta que nos excluye en algunos casos. Por no decir la poca capacidad de financiar estos eventos con contribuciones de los asistentes que se han acostumbrado a la política de subvenciones institucionales y de todo gratis. Debemos animarnos a realizar nuestras propuestas en creaciones orientadas a un publico de habla hispana. No por que eso nos haga diferenciarnos sino por que debemos potenciar nuestro idioma como parte del saber hacer de nuestra cultura. Cuantas barreras se impondrían si solo fuera el español el idioma elegido y único para la celebración.

Otro encuentro interesante fue con Marina Cella, esta encantadora arquitecta porteña realiza su tesis doctoral sobre la vivienda energéticamente autoabastecida que tiene un currículum de proyectos bastante abundante. En estos ratos de conversación mantuvimos algunos intercambios de información sobre la vivienda del futuro y algunos de los proyectos que tenemos interés en prefabricados y Emisión 0.

Anglo-Saxon models are practical and direct. His approach is original and its marketing reach people who are willing to pay for exposing their projects or come to a contest.

In some cases the critical current has to flow after you handle the English language and not your mother in any case a contradiction when the place of celebration is in Catalonia.

Judging by the percentage of entries-in a high degree of culture or origin of Anglo-Saxon model studies transferred to the Latin system would not work, in fact the level of local support was really low. Another interesting encounter was with Marina Cella , this charming architect Buenos Aires performed his doctoral thesis on energetically self supplied housing that has a very rich curriculum projects. In these moments of conversation kept some exchanges of information on the housing of the future and some of the projects that have an interest in prefabricated and Issuance 0.

Pronto me reuní con Ethel Barahona de DPR arquitectos, la mediática e innovadora arquitecta autora de Piel, libro electrónico y gratuito online que trata de su visión sobre una nueva arquitectura del cerramiento-recubrimiento y editora de muchos libros sobre arquitectura. Coincidíamos en dirigir los sentidos hacia aquello que nos gustaba, una apuesta por la arquitectura transdisciplinar y una nueva eclosión de generación de conocimiento abierto y licencia CC. Por ende, donde hay novedad tiene que haber critica con lo concebido. Se trata de construir sobre lo construido e innovar creando variantes y transdisciplinariedades haciendo de la arquitectura un todo que no se concibe sin la globalidad.

We soon met Ethel Barahona de dpr architects, the media, and innovative architect, author of Skin, and free online e-book that deals with your vision of a new architecture of the cladding-coating and editor of many books on architecture. We agreed to lead the way toward what we liked, a commitment to cross-disciplinary architecture and a new hatch open knowledge generation and CC. Therefore, where novelty has to be criticized as intended. It is build on what has been built and innovate to create variants and architecture transdisciplinariedades making a whole that can not be conceived without the whole.

También conocí a Ana María Alvarez que edita ELBloc una edición sobre urbanismo de Barcelona.

Con el Ingeniero de Caminos Xavier Font hablamos de la capacidad proyectual de este colectivo y su integración en el diseño tal y como el hace con puentes y pasarelas. Su presencia allí presentaba la inquietud de un colectivo que ve como la arquitectura muchas veces invade sus propias parcelas.

I also met Ana Maria Alvarez ELBloc an edition published on urbanism of Barcelona.

With Xavier Font Civil Engineer talk about the design skills of this group and their integration into the design as he does with bridges and walkways. His presence there showed the concern of a group that looks like the architecture often invade their own plots.
